Mayor R Priya recently led a training session at a school in West Jafferkhanpet, belonging to the Greater Chennai Corporation. The objective of the session was to educate students on the proper handling of solid waste.
During the session, Mayor Priya emphasized the importance of segregating waste into two categories – biodegradable and non-biodegradable. She also encouraged the students to act as ambassadors of cleanliness and spread awareness among their families and the community about the importance of sorting garbage and maintaining cleanliness in their homes and surroundings.
The Greater Chennai Corporation had initiated the Swachh Ambassador program on July 5th, and this training session was a part of the ongoing efforts to promote and implement effective waste management practices within the community.
